With Lennay Kekua by his side, Manti Te’o watched dejectedly as he was passed over in the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday.
In all seriousness, rest assured that he will be selected on Friday. Despite all the chaos surrounding him, he is simply too good of a football player to not be drafted by the end of the second round.
One team interested in him could be the Oakland Raiders.
Months before the draft, GM Reggie McKenzie claimed that Te’o is a “Top 10 pick, Top 15, Top 20″ and “we like him,” according to the San Francisco Chronicle’s Vic Tafur.
The Raiders already picked up a defensive player in the first round, selecting cornerback D.J. Hayden with the 12th overall pick. Selecting Te’o would only stock up their defense even more.
