Former LSU cornerback and return man Tyrann Mathieu is still on the board after the first round, and now is an option for the 49ers.

CSN’s Matt Maiocco reports that Mathieu is a “Day 2 possibility,” but probably not worth the 34th pick. The 49ers also own the 61st pick, and may be looking to trade up like they did in the first round.

A 49ers fan growing up, Mathieu has publicly stated that he would love to be drafted by San Francisco.

The “Honey Badger” shined in his two seasons at LSU before being dismissed due to his arrested for possession of marijuana in August of 2012.
