There is “a lot of buzz” about the Oakland Raiders selecting a left tackle with the third overall pick in the NFL Draft on Thursday, according to NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah.
The top offensive tackles expected to go in the top five are Luke Joeckel out of Texas A&M and Eric Fisher of Central Michigan.
CBSSports’ Dane Brugler has the Raiders taking Joeckel, saying:
The Raiders have several holes to fill, but it’s tough to ignore the attention Oakland has given the Texas A&M offensive tackle. Raiders offensive line coach Tony Sparano and head coach Dennis Allen were a big part of Joeckel’s pro day work out in College Station and would fit at left tackle, pushing Jared Veldheer to the right side.
Speculation was that the Raiders would pick defensive end Shariff Floyd, but if they don’t, his stock will likely take a tumble.
