Following the tragic events in Boston over the past week that are still ongoing, the San Francisco Giants are beefing up security at AT&T Park.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that fans should expect to see longer security lines this weekend, as each and every person who enters the stadium will have their bags searched and frisked by a metal-detecting wand.
The Giants and Padres will play a three-game series that begins on Friday night.
On Monday, the day of the Boston Marathon bombings, there was a large police presence at Oracle Arena and O.Co Coliseum for the Warriors and A’s games.
Bottom line: expect more security at any public place for the near future, especially at a large gathering like sporting event.
