San Francisco 49ers linebacker Larry Grant has been suspended four games for violating the league’s drug policy, according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.

Grant has seen limited playing time with the 49ers, as he plays behind Pro Bowlers Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman. However, he has made the most of his opportunities, filling in nicely for an injured Willis for three games and recording 29 tackles and two sacks in those starts.

He played in all 16 games last season, but again, saw little action and only had six tackles.

A free agent, Grant visited with the Chiefs earlier this week. Obviously, this suspension will likely lower his value on the market.
