NCAA Recruiting: Cal Signs Top Prospect Kameron Rooks

Kameron Rooks of Mission Hills High in San Marcos, CA signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the California Golden Bears.  The 7-0 center joins Cal’s 2013 recruiting class of Jabari Bird, Jordan Mathews, and Sam Singer who all signed last November.

Rooks is the son of former Arizona star and former 12-year NBA forward Sean Rooks.  The younger Rooks averaged 17.9 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.9 blocks per game his senior season, while being named the San Diego Union-Tribune 2013 Player of the Year and California Interscholastic Federation Player of the Year, along with numerous other accolades.  He led Mission Hills to their first-ever CIF championship.

ESPN rates Rooks as the 22nd-best center in the country.
