The San Francisco 49ers may not be done in free agency, with GM Trent Baalke telling reporters today that they are “still interested” in safety Charles Woodson.
Woodson visited with the 49ers earlier this month, but talks have seemingly broken off.
“I was up there three or four weeks ago and they let me get out of there, so that wasn’t a good sign so I don’t know if that is going to happen or not,” Woodson told the NFL Network.
However, it is now reaffirmed that the 49ers are still looking into him.
He has received numerous accolades throughout his career as an eight-time Pro Bowler, seven-time All-Pro member, and Super Bowl champion. Woodson was also the AP Defensive Player of the Year in 2009.
Woodson’s productivity has declined in recent seasons, however. He appeared in just seven games last, recording 25 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and one interception.
Woodson was released by the Packers earlier this offseason.
