The San Francisco 49ers will send a contingent to attend the workout of Florida State defensive end Tank Carradine, according to the Sacramento Bee.
Despite their stellar defense, the 49ers have to be wary of Justin Smith, who is turning 34 next season. Smith has been a rock on the defensive line, but there comes a point where he will have to step away and someone else will take over the reigns.
“At the scouting combine in February, Carradine measured 6-4 and weighed 276 pounds,” the Bee reports. “He also kicked out 32 repetitions of 225 pounds at the Florida State pro day last month – not bad for someone with 34 3/4-inch arms.”
Carradine is ranked as the 31st best prospect in the draft, and perhaps not coincidentally, the 49ers have the 31st overall selection.
