San Francisco 49ers free agent linebacker Larry Grant has worked out with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to Adam Caplan of The Sideline View.
Grant has seen limited playing time with the 49ers, as he plays behind Pro Bowlers Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman. However, he has made the most of his opportunities, filling in nicely for an injured Willis for three games and recording 29 tackles and two sacks in those starts.
He played in all 16 games last season, but again, saw little action and only had six tackles.
One would think that Grant will sign elsewhere should he get an offer to start, even for a struggling team like the Chiefs. He definitely has the potential to be a productive player in the NFL, but unfortunately for Grant, playing on a loaded defense on the 49ers doesn’t give him an opportunity to showcase his talent.
