Tough break for Scott Sizemore, who just recently came back from a torn ACL that forced him to miss all of last season.
The Oakland A’s infielder left Tuesday night’s game against the Angels with a sprained knee, according to Rotowire.
Sizemore will have an MRI tomorrow, and told Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle that a scar-tissue tearing might be the “best-case scenario.”
If he lands on the DL, the A’s will have to make a personnel move and will probably call up Jemile Weeks from Triple-A Sacramento.
Sizemore was traded to the A’s midway through the 2011 season, and hit .249 with 11 home runs in 93 games as the everyday third baseman in 2011 before an injury in Spring Training of 2012 shut him down.
He has one hit in four at-bats thus far this season.
