NFL Draft: Raiders “Very” Likely to Trade Down from No. 3 Pick

The Oakland Raiders own the third overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, but they may not want to keep it.

According to Steve Corkran of the Bay Area News Group, the Raiders are “very” likely to find a trade partner for the No.3 pick.

Oakland has been linked most notably to West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith, but with two quarterbacks in Matt Flynn and Terrelle Pryor already on the roster, drafting him this high would seem like a waste.

Late last month, GM Reggie McKenzie was scouting quarterback Matt Barkley at USC’s Pro Day. Barkley is projected to be selected in the late first round to early second round, but the Raiders don’t have a pick in that range (are you catching my drift here?).

If you put two and two together, it seems like Oakland may want to trade down from the coveted No. 3 selection in the NFL Draft.

They could trade down…but NOT for a QB. Biggest needs DT, DE, CB, S, RT probably in that order.

NO QB PLEASE. Sign Star. Floyd’s work ethics are called into question. He tends to quit on plays.
