It’s been a while since the Warriors have had a game. In fact, they haven’t gone anywhere other than Oakland in more than a week. Yes, the Warriors haven’t clinched a playoff spot yet, but are enjoying the perks of being at home and winning. Their magic number is 5, and with a Laker loss tonight and a Warrior win, that number becomes 3. Warrior fans, the dubs are getting closer and closer.
The last game for the Warriors was a 125-98 route of the Portland Trailblazers. The Warriors are continuing the home stand with a game against the Hornets, who they’ve beaten twice in New Orleans, and once in Oakland already. This is going to to be a laid back game, but the Warriors have to remember that they’re still fighting for a playoff spot.
Keys of the Game:
1. Keep Anthony Davis Off the Glass:
The Hornets are a pretty good offensive rebounding team, and Anthony Davis is just something else. He flies in for every single putback dunk or alley-oop that he can get. The Warriors need to prevent these because last game, Davis scored 18 points from a combination of both.
2. Match the Production of the Backcourt:
A Gordon/Vasquez backcourt is pretty damn productive, but with the hot shooting of Curry, the Warriors will get it going easily. Unfortunately for him, his partner in crime isn’t having as easy of a time that he is. Klay Thompson has been struggling, shooting 2/19 in his last 2 games. Those are some horrible numbers, but it can only get better.
