What has been rumored for days is now close to being official.
Jay Glazer was the first to report that the Raiders have a deal in place to acquire Matt Flynn from the Seahawks for a draft pick in 2014 and a conditional pick in 2015.
Flynn, who backed up Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay for four seasons, signed a lucrative three-year, $19.5 million deal with the Seattle last offseason, only to be benched in favor of Russell Wilson. Wilson completely took over the reigns, leading the Seahawks to the playoffs and leaving Flynn in the dust.
The acquisition of Flynn means that Carson Palmer will probably be cut. Palmer has refused to reconstructure his contract, and the Raiders are unwilling to pay him his full $13 million salary.
