Opening Day: Time to Break the Streak

The 2013 Oakland Athletics are the inhabitants of a different type of streak. A streak of a dubious nature has plagued the team for multiple seasons now. Dating back to 2005, the A’s have lost the last 8 consecutive opening days. Yes fans, since the belovedArthur Rhodes closed out a 5-4 victory over the Texas Rangers on April 5th, 2004, the A’s have not had a taste of season opening glory since Friendster was the dominant social network on the web.

Palmer, Flynn Moves Make Sense, But They’re Not Guaranteed Fixes

Or you can pay Matt Flynn $5.25 million in salary, not knowing if he’s going to be your quarterback of the future but knowing he’s got a better chance than anyone on your current roster.

Ryane Clowe Trade a No-Brainer as Sharks Look to Get Younger, Faster

It was as if the San Jose Sharks winger was already traded, already gone and forgotten. A cold statistical season in which Clowe has yet to score in 28 games and his coming off a recent shoulder injury, hasn’t stopped the hot pursuit of the pending unrestricted free agent.
