Three years ago on Easter Sunday, Donovan McNabb was traded to the Redskins.
This time around, Matt Flynn could be headed to the Raiders.
ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio is reporting that a trade to send Flynn from the Seahawks to the Raiders could be finalized “soon,” with the big issue being draft pick compensation.
Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie and Seahawks GM John Schneider are reportedly “twisting each other’s arms to get the best possible deal.”
It seems inevitable that the trade will be completed, barring the unlikely situation that Carson Palmer agrees to a pay cut. The Raiders are seemingly delaying the trade process to give Palmer a final chance, but if he has refused a salary slash all along, why would he suddenly give in now?
Look for Flynn to be traded and signed by the Raiders, and Palmer to be released.
