Report: Maloofs Could Keep Kings if NBA Board of Governors Votes Down Sale to Seattle Group

Could the torture of the Maloofs continue in Sacramento?

According to NBA.com’s Scott Howard Cooper, if the NBA Board of Governors votes down the sale of the Kings to the Seattle group, the Maloofs could keep the team instead of selling it to investors planning to keep the team in Sacramento.

This runs in direct contrast to NBC Sports’ Aaron Bruski, who reports that “without any equivocation,” the Maloofs will not own an NBA franchise next season.

If the Maloofs do decided to keep the team, that would be the worst-case scenario for Sacramento and its fans, who have already suffered enough under the wrath of the worst owners in all of sports.

The Maloofs keeping the Kings would put the franchise in limbo once again, as they look for new ways to betray their loyal fans and sell the team to another investor that plans to relocate.

To be frank, I would rather see the Kings move to Seattle than the Maloofs retain control of the franchise next season.
