Raiders: Matt Flynn Trade Not Happening Soon

The Raiders and Seahawks are closing in on a trade that will send Matt Flynn to Oakland for draft picks, but don’t expect it to be completed soon.

ESPN’s Bill Williamson reports that it “could extend a few days,” while the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport hears “crickets” on the trade.

Speculation is that the Raiders may be giving Carson Palmer one final chance to take a pay cut and stay on their roster as the starting quarterback. If he refuses, they will likely pull the trigger on the Flynn trade and release Palmer.

They may also be discussing the possibility of signing Kevin Kolb instead of trading for Flynn, as signing Kolb won’t cost them any draft picks
