Reports: Raiders Very Close to Trading for Matt Flynn

The Oakland Raiders are on the verge of acquiring quarterback Matt Flynn from the Seattle Seahawks, according to multiple reports.

Flynn, who backed up Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay for four seasons, signed a lucrative three-year, $19.5 million deal with the Seattle last offseason, only to be benched in favor of Russell Wilson. Wilson completely took over the reigns, leading the Seahawks to the playoffs and leaving Flynn in the dust.

If the Raiders complete the trade for Flynn, look for them to release Carson Palmer, who refused to take a pay cut. Oakland is unwilling to pay Palmer his full $13 million salary in 2013.

We will be keeping you updated if and when this trade is finished.
