San Francisco Giants Re-Sign Ramon Ramirez

After releasing him nearly a week ago, the San Francisco Giants have re-signed Ramon Ramirez, according to John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Ramirez was released last week after an atrocious spring training, in which he had an 11.25 ERA in eight innings against some weak competition, according to Baseball-Reference’s meter.

Ramirez scored an 8.4 on the OppQual meter, where major league competition is 10. So in short, he struggled, and Chad Gaudin quickly locked up the final bullpen spot.

Ramirez will play in the Bay Bridge preseason series and then report to Fresno to start the season.
