The San Francisco 49ers have 14 selections in the 2013 NFL Draft, but they could be dealing some of those picks.

According to Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network, the 49ers are in a “perfect position” to trade the 31st or 34th overall pick in exchange for a future first round pick because those selections are “prime position” for teams that are looking for a quarterback.

Walter Football ranks Matt Barkley, E.J. Manuel, Ryan Nassib, Matt Glennon, and Tyler Wilson as the top five quarterbacks expected to come off the board after Geno Smith, who is a projected early-mid first round pick.

These pundits have exhausted every conceivable scenario. Trading down for next year or 2 or who knows lets make it 3 years is always a possibility. Next week will be the final scenario, ” What if Trent Baalke has a mental breakdown and trades all the 49ers 14 draft picks from 2013 and all the picks from 2014 to the NYJ’s for Tim Tebow?

The players entering the draft have a good idea what teams are interested in them and what the teams are willing to do to draft that person ( sometimes they tell the player, “Look we really need you and we are going to try and trade up to get you”, other times they tell the player ” Hey if you are still around in the 5th round we’ll take you” . I think the 49ers are going to move up in the draft to around #20 and take a player no one has even suspected the 49ers of targeting in the draft.
