Contrary to what we baited a fake insider to report last week, the Boston Bruins are no longer showing interest in acquiring Sharks forward Ryane Clowe, according to CSN’s Kevin Kurz.

Boston scouts were attending Sharks games to take a look at Clowe, but now it seems that he is not on their radar anymore.

However, the rumors will continue to swirl around him until the trade deadline on April 3.

Perhaps a change of scenery could be better for Clowe, who has not scored in 25 games this season. He has nine assists, 72 penalty minutes, and a -7 plus-minus rating.

He was also suspended two games last month for coming off the bench to engage in an altercation with the Blackhawks’ Andrew Shaw.

Clowe has been a consistent force in the lineup since the 2008-2009 season (he averages over 20 goals per season), but has not found a way to get it together this year.
