NFL Free Agency: 49ers, Titans Interested in Bears DL Israel Idonije

The 49ers are apparently looking to stock up their defense even more, showing interest in Bears free agent defensive lineman Israel Idonije.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the Bears will have to “fight off the 49ers” in order to re-sign Idonije. Last night, Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean broke the news that the Titans were also looking into signing Idonije.

A 10-year veteran who has spent his entire career in Chicago, Idonije recorded 48 tackles, 7.5 sacks and one forced fumble. He led the NFL in blocked punts/fields goals in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
