Former 49ers wide receiver Ted Ginn has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers, according to ESPN.
Ginn visited with the Panthers and Bengals earlier this week and had offers from both of them. He spurned his hometown of Ohio and went with Carolina.
It was a foregone conclusion that Ted Ginn had played his last game in a 49er uniform, as NinerNoise reported earlier this month that he would not be re-signed.
Ginn came over to the 49ers in 2010 via a trade from the Dolphins, and served as a punt and kickoff returner. Last season, he had 326 yards on 32 punt returns and 253 yards on 11 kickoff returns.
However, he was essentially a non-factor in terms of receiving, catching just two passes for one yard in 13 games. His production at wide receiver has declined every year since 2008.
