Oakland A's Trade Two Minor Leaguers in Separate Deals

The A’s made some minor deals today with the Milwaukee Brewers and Washington Nationals.

They sent third base prospect Stephen Parker to the Brewers in exchange for minor league pitcher Darren Byrd. Parker hit .256 with seven home runs and 47 RBI last year with Triple A Sacramento. Byrd, who has been in the minors since 2005, posted a 3-5 record with a 2.59 ERA in 50 games with Double A Huntsville in 2012.

On a separate note, the A’s also sent LHP Ian Krol to the Nationals as the player-to-be-named-later in the John Jaso trade. Krol was drafted in the seventh round in 2009, and went 2-9 with a 5.20 ERA last season in time split between Single A and Double A.
