Free agent wide receiver and special teams player Josh Cribbs has cut his options down to three teams: the 49ers, Giants, and Cardinals (per Jim Bowden of ESPN).
For now, all roads lead to him signing with Arizona, who he will meet with tomorrow. He took a physical with the Cardinals last week, but has not signed a deal yet.
Cribbs was among the top 10 returners in the league for punts and kickoffs last season, which is an area where the 49ers have lacked in recent years.
In 38 punt returns last season, Cribbs recorded 457 yards. He also had 1178 yards on 43 kickoff returns.
The 49ers should be thinking about improving their punt/kickoff return game, with Ted Ginn unlikely to return and nobody in particular standing out to replace him.
Cribbs is a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All Pro selection.
