The Warriors Must Not Revert To Losing Ways Now

So far this season, the Warriors have taken a pretty good standing, right now at 38-30. That’s 8 games over .500, and just what the Warriors are looking for. They’re going good right now, and this is just about the time the fans dread for the Warriors to make an error. Yesterday, they won one of the biggest games of the season against Houston. This game was the difference between 6th and 7th place. A win yesterday and a win tonight against the Hornets puts the Warriors at a considerable distance from the 7th seed. Now what?

Well, in some bold statements, some said the Warriors weren’t playoff bound. They might be correct, if the Warriors continue to play the way that they are. With the Jazz and the Lakers not giving up their pursuit of the playoffs, there are 4 teams competing for 3 spots. The Warriors of course have the upper-hand, but may falter in these last games of the regular season.

If the Warriors revert to their losing ways, they’ll be letting the fans down, their coach down, and the organization down. The Dubs have proven that they can win big games when they want to. Against the Knicks, they won by 29 points, and then they beat the Rockets, the highest scoring team in the NBA by 30 points. These days, 30 points is a lot.

With 14 games left in the season, it’s very possible for the Warriors to have a huge problem, and fall out of the playoff race. They may be hoping for a team like the Jazz to fall out of rhythm (pun), but that’s not the way to go. The Warriors need to find solutions to their problems. This month and the month before, the Warriors were having huge problems. They haven’t had a winning month in a while, and currently sit at 5-5 for March. If the Warriors can come away with a winning record this month, it’ll be a moral win, as well as a win in the standings.

At the most crucial point in the season, the Warriors are showing signs of destruction, but they have to prevent the auto-destruct from going off. They can do this by winning and playing some good basketball. This team is a good defensive team when they want to be. Now, they just have to do that every single game, and they can put some considerable distance between them and the Rockets.
