Free agent cornerback Terrence Newman is giving “strong consideration” for signing with the Raiders, according to his agent, Ben Dogra of CAA Football.
“He liked the coaches and overall gameplan presented by Reggie McKenzie,” Dogra told the Bay Area News Group.“Terrence hopes to make a decision shortly after the owner’s meetings. He is considering Oakland and Cincinnati.”
In 15 games last season, Newman had 53 tackles with one forced fumble and two interceptions. The 34-year old cornerback spent his first nine seasons with the Cowboys before heading to Cincinnati.
