The 49ers have agreed to terms with free agent safety Craig Dahl on a three-year deal, the team announced.

Dahl visited with the 49ers yesterday.

He started all 16 games last season for the Rams, registering 78 tackles and one interception. He entered the league with the Giants in 2007 as an undrafted free agent.

The 49ers have also met with free agent safeties Charles Woodson and Louis Delmas, the latter of whom returned to the Lions yesterday.

Not the game-changing, Reed-type move 49ers fans crave. I don’t love this move, especially considering it’s worth three years.

They could still go after someone else, I believe Dahl was just a safety net (no pun intended) in case they don’t get a better player.
