A’s relief pitcher Fernando Rodriguez will undergo Tommy John surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right elbow, according to the Bay Area News Group.
Rodriguez suffered the injury on Monday when he pitched in a Spring Training game against a Padres.
Acquired in the Jed Lowry trade from the Astros, Rodriguez was 2-10 with a 5.37 ERA in 71 games last season.
