The 49ers are interested in Ed Reed, but he may sign with the Texans before San Francisco ever gets a chance to talk to him.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that “every sign now points to him getting done a deal in Houston on Friday” after Reed visited with the Texans yesterday and today.
If Reed did not come to terms with the Texans, he was slated to meet with the 49ers.
His agent, David Dunn of Athletes First, has represented 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh and GM Trent Baalke.
Reed has accomplished in 11 years what few others have done. His accolades include nine Pro Bowl selections, eight All-Pro seasons, Super Bowl champion, two time Defense Back of the Year, and Defensive Player of the Year in 2004.
He holds the NFL record for most career interception return yards (1,541), and is tied for most postseason interceptions.
