49ers wide receiver Mario Manningham has accepted a pay cut to remain with the team in 2013, according to CSNBayArea.
Manningham’s base pay will be cut in half from $3.6 million to $1.8 million. $1.25 million of his contract is guaranteed for injury only. The pay cut also slashes $350,000 worth of bonus and incentive money.
Last month it was reported that he could be released because he had no guaranteed money remaining on his contract, but now that issue is resolved with his consent to the pay cut.
Manningham suffered a torn ACL and PCL during Week 12 against the Seahawks when he was hit while attempting to catch a pass. He is expected to start the season on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list.
As the No. 2 option at wide receiver for the 49ers in 2012, Manningham caught 42 passes for 449 yards in 12 games.
