The San Francisco 49ers are interested in signing Browns free agent wide receiver and special teams player Josh Cribbs, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer.

The 49ers are among five teams (Giants, Patriots, Cardinals, Cowboys) who want to bring the Pro Bowler aboard.

In 38 punt returns last season, Cribbs recorded 457 yards. He also had 1178 yards on 43 kickoffs.

The 49ers are looking at improving their punt/kickoff return game, with Ted Ginn unlikely to return and nobody in particular standing out to replace him.

Cribbs is a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All Pro selection.
