49ers defensive lineman Ricky Jean Francois is one of the most popular free agents in the market at the moment.

The Sacramento Bee reports via his agent that five teams have called to inquire about Francois. The teams were not named, but his agent said that the teams run both 4-3 and 3-4 defenses.

Two of those teams may be the Packers and Eagles, who are reported to be interested in Francois.

Jean Francois will become a free agent on March 12 if he is not re-signed by the 49ers.

As a backup at all three defensive lineman positions, Jean Francois recorded two sacks and 12 tackles last season. He has played in all 48 regular season games since being drafted in 2010, and started in five of them.

He filled in nicely toward the end of season for the injured Justin Smith, which can only add to his value as a potential starter.
