The Warriors will sign forward Malcolm Thomas to a 10-day contract, reports ESPN’s Marc Stein.
Thomas is currently playing for the LA D-Fenders of the NBA’s D-League, but has only appeared in one game and scored 13 points with 17 rebounds.
The San Diego State graduate was named to the All-NBA D-League First Team last season, when he averaged 13.5 points and 9.1 rebounds while shooting 61.9 percent in 25 games.
He does have some minimal NBA experience, appearing in three games with the Spurs in 2011-2012.
Thomas, who finished his career in San Diego as the second all-time leading shot blocker, should provide the Warriors with some much-needed size down low.
He is expected to sign the contract today, making him eligible to play tonight against Houston.
