Those in Scottsdale looking to see Tim Lincecum pitch on Saturday came away dissapointed.
The two-time Cy Young Award winner was scratched from his scheduled start with a blister on his pitching hand.
However, Lincecum says it is no big deal.
“We’ll play it by ear but we’re not trying to compound the issue,” he told the San Jose Mercury News. “It’s not too terrible — nothing I haven’t dealt with before. I don’t want to compound it and make it worse and turn it into something to keep me out during the season.”
Lincecum pointed out that he has had blisters before, including before his 2009 Cy Young season.
