Report: Kings Buy Out Aaron Brooks

UPDATE: HoopsWorld is reporting that Brooks has been bought out.

Original Story:

The Sacramento Kings have released point guard Aaron Brooks, according to broadcaster Grant Napear.

Brooks was reportedly “saying goodbye to his teammates” in the hotel lobby.

The Sacramento Bee says that Brooks is working on a buyout with the Kings, but nothing is official yet.

Brooks has seen a decrease in playing time with Isaiah Thomas and Jimmer Fredette getting the most action at point guard.

Brooks is making $3.25 million this year, with a $3.44 million player option for next season.

In 46 games this season, Brooks is averaging 8.0 points per game. He previously played for Phoenix and Houston, where he scored 19.6 PPG in 2009-2010.
