Another potential stumbling point in the pending sale of the Sacramento Kings to a Seattle-based group led by Chris Hansen has been revealed.
According to David Baumann of SportsTalkFlorida, the Seattle group owed a non-refundable $30 million to the Maloofs by Feb. 1, but they never delivered it. The group reportedly was not going to make the payment without the NBA’s approval to move the team.
Despite that, the Maloofs went ahead and filed for relocation on behalf of the Seattle group.
So there are two possibilities here: 1) The report is inaccurate, or 2) Hansen just pulled a Maloof on the Maloofs.
