“He’s back,”….but in Taiwan.

Yes, according to an ESPN Deportes report (via NBC Sports), former MLB slugger Manny Ramirez is set to sign with EDA Rhinos of the Chinese Professional League.

Ramirez reportedly has a “verbal agreement,” and it will become a done deal if he doesn’t sign with a major league team by March 7, which is extremely unlikely to happen.

His last stint with an MLB team was with the A’s last year, when he signed a minor-league deal. However, he never was called up to join the big club and was granted his release.

Ramirez hit .312 with 555 home runs and 1831 RBI during his 19 years in the majors.
