There is no question that Giants manager Bruce Bochy and general manager Brian Sabean are among the best in their respective positions in all of baseball.
Bochy has won two of the past three World Series, and is entering his seventh season with the Giants. Sabean is the longest tenured GM in the majors, entering his 17th season at the helm of the club.
Therefore, it only makes sense to lock both of them up long term as soon as possible, which is exactly what CEO Larry Baer is planning to do.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Baer is discussing contract extensions for Bochy and Sabean, and Baer told the paper that “it won’t be one year.”
The duo is signed through 2014 after the Giants picked up their options last year.
