49ers Practice Squad Member Al Netter Arrested for DUI

49ers practice squad offensive lineman Al Netter was arrested for a DUI earlier this week, reports the Press Democrat.

Netter is the third 49ers player to be arrested for a DUI in the past 13 months.

In a statement, the 49ers said:

The 49ers are aware of the recent matter involving Al Netter. We take these issues very seriously, but will reserve comment at this time as this is an ongoing legal matter. The organization will continue to gather the facts and monitor the developments closely.

Netter traveled with the 49ers to the Super Bowl after signing with them last year. He turned down a chance to sign with other NFL teams because he believes he has a good future in San Francisco.

Netter is a local kid, attending Cardinal Newman High School in Santa Rosa before moving on to Northwestern.
