Warriors Look to Solve Spurs at Home: Game Preview

The Warriors will battle the San Antonio Spurs, the best team in the NBA, at home tonight.

Golden State is coming off a win against Phoenix that snapped their season long six-game losing streak. Klay Thompson had 28 points to lead the way, sinking three-after-three in the first half.

If head coach Mark Jackson called that game “the biggest game of the season” before tip-off, what does it make this game?

The Spurs have won five in a row and 16 of their last 17, and there seems to be no formula to stop them. The Big Three of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobli, and Tony Parker are all healthy and in the lineup, which spells trouble for any opposing team.

What’s worse, the Warriors have dropped 16 straight and 26 of their last 29 against the Spurs.

Miscellaneous Notes:

  • The Warriors will debut their new uniformswith sleeves tonight. They will become the first NBA team to wear anything besides the traditional tank top in a game.
  • Andrew Bogut is questionable with back spasms. Mark Jackson wants to be careful with the Aussie because a five-game road trip is coming up.
