The Oakland Raiders starting quarterback job belongs to Carson Palmer, at least for now.

There is speculation that the up-and-coming Terrelle Pryor could supplant Palmer, but head coach Dennis Allen said that “the plan” was to start Palmer in 2013.

In an interview with the NFL Network, Allen said, “Carson had a really good year last year. He threw for over 4,000 yards. He’s one of our leaders on our football team. And we anticipate him being that way moving forward.”

The Raiders will ask Palmer to take a pay cut, or else they could possibly release him. Palmer is owed $13 million next season, and the Raiders are unexpected to be wiling to pay that much.
