A’s pitcher Bartolo Colon reported to the team in Arizona today for Spring Training, and spoke to the media regarding his 50-game suspension last season for taking PEDs.

With the help of a translator, Colon said, “The only thing I can say about last year is I apologize to everyone, even the fans, the team, the front office about what happened.”

However, he was present while the A’s went on their amazing run to the postseason last year.

“It was bad not to be a part of it,” he said. “They continued to play together, though.”

Colon was 10-9 with a 3.43 ERA before his suspension. He reportedly knew of his failed drug tests six weeks before he was suspended, but did not inform the team and continued pitching.
