Terrelle Pryor: quarterback or receiver, starter or number two? Those are still the questions.
Pryor still remains a mystery for the Raiders. Where exactly does he fit in? Let’s face it, he is a quarterback and should be the starter.
The Raiders are still looking at Pryer in more than just a quarterback role. The facts are that with a 4.38 second 40 yard dash time, he could fit it well at the receiver position at the NFL level. Some still say that receiver is the role he should play.
I say keep him at quarterback and start him. Here’s why:
Last season was dismal for the Raiders. They went 4-12. Pryor was given the start in Oakland’s season finale, finishing 13 for 28 for 150 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in a 24-21 loss to the San Diego Chargers.
He added 49 yards and a touchdown on the ground. He can both rush and pass as a quarterback. He has proven this. He doesn’t need to be a receiver. He can use his speed and agility to potentially become a great quarterback.
It’s time for the Raiders to be bold and take some risks. I say start Pry0r and give him his shot. After last season, the Raiders have little to lose. Pryor may just bring in the motivation this team needs.
So according to the Raiders, where does Pryor fit in? Offensive coordinator Greg Olson said, “That’s what we’ll have to find out with Terrelle Pryor, We know what kind of an athlete he is. We need to find out what kind of decision maker he is. We need to find out if he’s a guy that can also sit in the pocket and deliver the ball from point A to point B accurately and on time and making the right decisions. That above all else becomes most important.”
The way for the Raiders to move forward is to make changes. Keep Pryor at the QB position and I make the bold prediction that he’s the starter in 13’.
