The Sacramento Kings fed off the 16,000 plus fans tonight in Sleep Train Arena as, the Kings beat the Utah Jazz from start to finish. The Kings fed off their die-hard fans and out-played Utah from the very beginning of the game.
Sacramento out rebounded the Jazz 44-39 and scored 10 more fast break points. While every player on the Kings scored in double figures, with Marcus Thornton coming off the bench with big minutes scoring 25 points.
The Kings had big scoring nights from Isaiah Thomas with 25 points, and Jason Thompson with 21 points. Tyreke Evans and DeMarcus Cousins shined for the Kings as they both regularly found their teammates on their way to 6 assists each.
The Kings seemed to feed of their home crowd as they clearly came into the game fired up, and ready to play for a near capacity crowd. Tonight offered a legitimate reason for Sacramento to keep their team with continued fan support despite the Maloof family’s continued lack of commitment to the franchise.
With the Kings taking on the Houston Rockets tomorrow in the second game of their back to back home games, the Kings must use this momentum and keep playing for their fans as they prepare for a tough upcoming schedule. The Kings will face Memphis, then Dallas in a back-to-back on the road. After the All-Star Break, the Kings will return to a home game against the Spurs, then a five game road streak ending in San Antonio.
The Kings will need as much momentum as they can find.
