Over 16,000 fans poured into Sleep Train Arena to show their support for the Kings, whose sale to a Seattle-based ownership group is pending review.
The first quarter was tightly contested, but the Kings opened up some breathing room in the second. Thomas’ layup at the buzzer brought down the house, giving Sacramento a 62-54 lead at the half.
The Kings extended their lead to double-digits in the third quarter on the strength of an 8-0 run. With the roaring crowd behind them, they pulled away in the fourth to claim the victory.
