The Panda may have eaten too many burritos to celebrate his World Series MVP Award.
Giants manager Bruce Bochy claimed “we still have some work to do” on Pablo Sandoval’s weight, which has been an issue since he enter the major leagues.
Sandoval’s weight was last discussed in early September, when he was in the midst of a homer-less streak of 104 at-bats.
“It’s an ongoing issue, obviously, something that he’s been battling,” Bochy said at the time. “He showed last year that he’s a different player when his weight is down.”
Despite his playoff heroics, Sandoval had a down year statistically in 2012. He hit .283 with 12 home runs and 63 RBIs in 108 games after hitting .315 with 23 home runs in 2011.
