Bulls Take On First Place Reign For Final Time This Season: Game Preview

The Bulls are looking to bounce back and get the horrible taste of last game out of their memories. They travel down to Ontario to take on the first place Reign for the final time this season. The Bulls come in 17-23-6, while the Reign are 34-11-3 on the season. The Reign own the season series over the Bulls at eight wins and one loss. These two teams faced off last Wednesday in San Francisco as the Bulls fell to the Reign five to two. The Bulls welcome back Marek Viedensky as he plays in his first game since returning from Worcester. The Bulls will be without Rylan Galiardi, who was placed on injured reserve, and Peter Sivak, who is out with flu-like symptoms.

The Bulls are coming off a pathetic five to nothing loss to the Las Vegas Wranglers. They will be looking for a much better showing as rust played a huge part of that last game. They will be in for a tough night as they face the best team in the league and a team that has had their number all season. It will be key to see how Viedensky acclimates himself to the offense tonight as they will be with out Peter Sivak. If Viedensky can have an impact on the offense then the Bulls should have a chance to tonight. The Bulls will also need to get a much better showing out of their defense and goal tending as they have allowed 10 goals in the last two games played. Look for Thomas Heemskerk to step in between the pipes as he makes his return from injury.

The Reign come in as winners of 10 of their last 11, which has seen them overtake Alaska for first place in the ECHL standings. The Reign will be short handed tonight as they will be without the league’s leading goal and point scorer in Colton Yellow Horn, who has been called up to their AHL squad the Manchester Monarchs. They will also be without number one goalie Jean Francois-Berube, who was also called up to Manchester. The Reign still possess a lot of their scoring punch with the trio of C.J. Stretch, Kyle Kraemer, and Mario Lamoureux. So expect the Bulls to still be in store for a fight in tonight’s contest as they look to take the final match up between the teams this season.
