Warriors point guard Stephen Curry has accepted the invitation to participate in the 3-point shootout during NBA All-Star Weekend.

Curry is second in the league in 3-point percentage (44.9) and 3-pointers made (147).

“I’ve got to avenge my rookie year shortcoming,” he told the Contra Costa Times.  Curry finished second in 2010 in the shootout.

However, he will not participate in the Skills Challenge, which he won in 2011.

He was “snubbed” from the All-Star team, but this will probably enhance his chances of being an injury replacement to Tim Duncan, Chris Paul, or Dwight Howard.

So we’ll keep you update on whether or not he will be an All-Star after all, but for now, Curry is headed to Houston for the 3-point shootout.
