Draymond Green Fires Back at Kevin Martin

Warriors forward Draymond Green has been nothing but a thorn in the side of his opponents as of late, and he responded to Kevin Martin’s critical comments on Wednesday.

Following a loss in Oklahoma City, Thunder guard Kevin Martin had this to say:

Coach Jackson should talk to a couple of his bench players, make sure they get wet behind the ears before they come barking up a couple of our players’ trees. I take it personally. It wasn’t only talking trash. They did a couple of dirty plays to inspire us as a team

Martin had a decent game, scoring 21 points and was 3/6 from 3-point range as the Thunder blew out the Warriors 119-98.

He may have been referring to more than one person, but the main culprit is Green, who shoved him out of bounds on a pass while the Thunder were on a fastbreak.

Green shot back on his Twitter account, writing the following:

If last night is what y’all people consider a dirty play nowadays we might as well change the name to powder puff basketball. Last time I checked this wasn’t a pretty boy game.

Personally, I like Green’s chippy attitude. He gets under his opponent’s skin and plays the role of a pest on both ends of the court.

I also think it’s funny how Martin thinks he has the right to call out an opposing player because he’s on a winning team for the first time. I wonder if he would still be making those comments if he was on the Kings or Rockets.
